RAMP (Regional Accelerator Music Program)

Driven by the State Government’s Music Development Office, the Regional Accelerator Music Program (RAMP) encompasses a series of activities designed to support regional musicians and live music opportunities.

Pilot RAMPs will work to create a thriving music scene in our regions.

Phase 1: Regional Music Discovery Roundtables
Roundtables have now been delivered in eight regional areas: Southern Adelaide (including Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula, Northern Adelaide / Barossa, Port Pirie, Mt Gambier, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Port Augusta, Murray Bridge.

Phase 2: Regional Music Workshops for Artists & Venues
Free workshops have now been delivered in each of the above regional areas between June and September 2019. The team from Northern Sound System facilitated each of the events, and a report on the outcomes is forthcoming.

Phase 3: Regional Live Music Coordinators
As a result of the Roundtables, an Expression of Interest was issued by the Music Development Office seeking regional organisations interested in trialling a part-time Regional Live Music Coordinator. Barossa Council and City of Mt Gambier demonstrated strong economic development strategies that outlined music and creative industries as integral to the growth of their regions. with the positions to be funded through RAMP in 2019-20.

Leah Blankendaal has been appointed as Regional Live Music Coordinator for the Barossa Council.

Applications are open for the City of Mt Gambier’s Regional Live Music Coordinator until 27 September.
